Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been called out on social media having sent out a Tweet following Jose Mourinho’s sacking. The Old Trafford club confirmed Mourinho’s departure in a statement released on their website, with a caretaker set to take charge until the end of the season. And just over half-an-hour after United confirmed the news, Paul Pogba posted a pictured on social media platform Twitter with the title ‘Caption this!’.7The tweet has since been deleted, with fans calling out Pogba in the comments for being ‘disrespectful’ given Mourinho had lost his job less than an hour previously. Old Trafford legend Gary Neville also waded in to share his response, and it was clear he was not happy with Pogba’s tweet.
Caption This You do one as well !— Gary Neville (@GNev2) December 18, 2018Given the post also appeared on another social media platform, Facebook, at the same time, it may be this was a pre-scheduled advertising tweet from adidas, though there has been no confirmation as of yet. Pogba and Mourinho famously endured a rocky relationship since the France midfielder returned to Old Trafford from Juventus in summer 2016.Though Pogba has performed well at times for the club, he has consistently been criticised for his lack of consistency and his focus on off-pitch interests.Earlier this year, footage emerged of Mourinho appearing to tell Pogba to ‘get out’ when he arrived on the training pitch, while the Portuguese is also alleged to have called the 25-year-old a ‘virus’ during a recent dressing room rant.
