Paul Pogba has been reinstated to Manchester United’s leadership group and will be considered for the captaincy after being stripped of the armband by Jose Mourinho earlier this season.Exactly four months to the day after Pogba was dropped as one of United’s vice-captains, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed the France midfielder could skipper the Red Devils should Antonio Valencia, the club captain, and second-choice Ashley Young be unavailable.1

United’s caretaker manager also backed Pogba, 25, to become a full-time captain in the future.“Hes definitely captaincy material,” Solskjaer said of Pogba. “Hes a leader. Myself. I am the manager, I can make these decisions. No fall-out at all, no problems at all, just one decision that I dont have to explain.”Pogba struggled for form under Mourinho but has burst into life since Solskjaer succeeded him as the club’s caretaker manager, as have many of his United team-mates.The former Juventus midfielder has scored three goals and created a further four in the six matches since Mourinho’s sacking, and has been praised for finally fulfilling his potential at Old Trafford.
